Lee Friedlander
Lee Friedlander was born on July 14, 1934, Aberdeen, Washington, U.S, American photographer known for his asymmetrical black-and-white pictures of the American “social landscape”—everyday people, places, and things.Friedlander’s interest in photography struck when he was 14. He studied briefly at the Art Center School in Los Angeles before moving to New York City in 1956. When he arrived in New York, Friedlander began his career by taking pictures for Atlantic Records of the label’s blues and jazz musicians—including Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and John Coltrane. He also started to work as a freelance photographer for magazines such as Collier’s, Esquire, McCall’s, and Sports Illustrated.

My opinion on how Lee Friedlander's work is presented and executed, he sticks to the same pattern in every photograph and he has unique way of taking pictures with a lot of ideas.

My photographs in the style of Lee Friedlander
I think this photograph is influenced by Lee Friedlander the most as it captures reflections on the outside whilst still showing whats happening on the inside, it is like a dual reality.
Naoya Hatakeyama
Naoya Hatakeyama was born in 1958 in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Hatakeyama, a student of Kiyoji Otsuji, completed graduate studies at Tsukuba University in 1984. Since then, Hatakeyama has been based in Tokyo, a city which has served as a model from which he has developed a body of work concerned largely with the relationship between nature, the city and photography. In addition to his participation in numerous solo and group exhibitions, Hatakeyama’s photographs are found in public collections including the National Museum of Modern Art, Osaka; the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven; the Swiss Foundation for Photography, Winterthur; la Maison EuropEéenne de la Photographie, Paris; and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

my opinion on this photographer due to how much colour is in the picture which make it so eye catching.Firstly I really like how you can see a faint reflection of the building in the water. Also I really like the ripples of the water in the background; the ripples start of quite high then they slowly disappear, I think this makes the photo even better. Naoya has shown us what a reflection looks like when it is disturbed as it makes the reflection in the photo lookout of focus but I think that this makes the photo even better, this is where the ripples come from. I think that the exposure is just right for the photo, as it is not to bright it makes the photo quite intriguing. There is quite a a few shapes in the photo, you have the lines running all throughout the photo and then you also have the building which looks like a cylinder kind of shape. In my opinion I think that the photo has quite a smooth texture to it, most likely because of the water. The image has a blue tone which gives the photograph a cool and calm feeling, it also has hints of orange and cream/white.

My photographs in the style of Naoya Hatakeyama
I have added a reflection to the above two images and edited it in photoshop to give them a ripple effect, I've tried to capture a photographer trapped in a reflection.
photographs in my style
I've tried to show how light is a reflection on a carpet, I like this effect but I think I would struggle to do this for my final outcome as it would be too dependent on the weather being correct, this makes me think it must be hard to be a professional photographer as you are always in the hands of the weather for your shoots.,
My first edited Photo
I am trying to manipulate reflections to show how they always change
My second edited Photo
Lowry Photographs (Day)
I went to Lowry to take photographs after school as I wanted to use wide open space and water
The slight wind made the water move so the reflections werent as strong as I'd hoped Im going to go back at night to see if they are better.
Lowry Photographs (Night)
to show movement, it was challenging as the dark night made the shutterspeed slow so there was slight camera shake on some and some of the other images are grainy but I didn't want to use a f;lash as this would have bleached the lights colours too much.
I think the colours are in the style of naoya hatakeyama
I think the colours are in the style of naoya hatakeyama
The reason I planned to take this shoot in this area at night because at that time the buildings lighting will be on which will reflect on the river and it would make a stronger image.
Edited Pictures
I've added a bird flying and its reflection in this image to freeze the movement and add a sense of freedom to a built up area

My final piece
For my final piece I have merged together my best edited pictures to show a combination of reflections. I wanted to do this to demonstrate how the reflections keep changing especially in water.. If I had more time I would of reflected the overall Image again but I am pleased with the final outcome.
